US-based ScienceLogic opens regional HQ in Australia
26 June 2013
Cloud management software provider ScienceLogic has opened its Asia-Pacific headquarters in Australia following robust growth in its customer base across the region.
“Asia Pacific has always been a leading market for us and we have already built an incredibly loyal customer base in the region,” ScienceLogic chief executive David Link said.
“Australia has often been cited as the most virtualised country in the world and, with Amazon initiating an AWS presence there, we are seeing a substantial shift toward cloud-based services,” Mr Link said, referring to the cloud-based Amazon Web Services.
“This makes it the ideal location from which to further expand our Asia-Pacific business.”
Mr Link said in a statement the Virginia-based company’s decision to open its regional headquarters in Sydney follows stellar expansion in its international business, which to 18 per cent of total sales in 2012 from a previous 2 per cent.
Simon Horrocks, Vice President of the Asia Pacific and Japan, will head the Asia-Pacific team.
ScienceLogic was founded in 2003 in Reston, Virginia to provide a streamlined, low-cost integrated IT management platform. Today, it provides monitoring and management capabilities for companies doing business in the cloud.
