Spanish investment in Australian clean energy

The Spanish energy supplier, Union Fenosa S.A., is ready to invest up to $1.9 billion in Australia.
Union Fenosa Wind Australia is building seven wind farms in Victoria and New South Wales – a project which is expected to create up to 300 new jobs in regional areas of the country.
Australia's Minister for Trade, Simon Crean, said that this investment by Union Fenosa “is a great example of the kind of initiative that can help position Australia as a world leader for clean energy technology.
"The future international competitiveness of the Australian economy is reliant on our ability to position ourselves for the future," Mr Crean said.
