Maningrida Arts and Culture Remote networking takes Aboriginal heritage to the world
Located 500km by road from Darwin on the Arnhem Coast and accessible only by air during the wet season, Maningrida Arts and Culture relies on the internet to survive. The business promotes the artistic and knowledge-based cultural assets of more than 700 Aboriginal artists throughout the region. Assistant Arts Director Claire Summers said artists working with Maningrida Arts and Culture have exhibited works overseas, including their first-ever exposure to the Middle East Market with Identity and Country: Contemporary Art from Maningrida at the La Fontaine Centre of Contemporary Art in Bahrain.
