New appointments at Austrade

The Chief Executive of Austrade, Peter Grey, has announced several key appointments to Austrade’s International Operations team:
- David Howard has been appointed General Manager, Established Markets. Mr Howard has held former Austrade postings in New York and London and has more recently worked as Austrade State Manager, New South Wales.
- David Landers has been appointed General Manager, Growth and Emerging Markets. Mr Landers brings to Austrade extensive international management experience via leadership roles in multi-national corporate, top-tier management consulting and venture capital organisations, most recently as founder and CEO of a $51 million emerging technology fund and executive vice president of sales and chief financial officer of Asia Foods Ltd.
- Elizabeth Masamune has been appointed General Manager, East Asian Growth Markets. Ms Masamune has had a number of postings with Austrade as Senior Trade Commissioner in the South and East Asian markets including Japan, Seoul, Vietnam and Jakarta.
Mr Grey has also announced new overseas appointments to the posts of Tokyo, New York, Jakarta and Shanghai:
- Michael Clifton, most recently chief of staff to the Hon. Simon Crean MP and formerly Senior Trade Commissioner Osaka and Senior Trade Commissioner Hong Kong, will be Senior Trade Commissioner Shanghai.
- Kym Hewett, currently Consul General and Senior Trade Commissioner Dubai and former Austrade Area Manager North Asia, will be Senior Trade Commissioner Jakarta.
- Richard Leather, currently Director, Group Investor Relations, with Gresham Partners and former Director of Cosway Australia, will be Senior Trade Commissioner New York.
- Leonie Muldoon, currently CEO of legal information provider Timebase and former General Manager for Standards Australia International, will be Senior Trade Commissioner Tokyo.
The appointments follow the implementation of Austrade’s new organisational structure on 1 October 2011.
