Austrade’s Senior Trade Commissioners in North Asia have provided an overview of the opportunities in their respective markets under the free trade agreements (FTAs) with China, Japan and Korea.

In three new videos, the Senior Trade Commissioners discuss the benefits of the FTAs, the unique opportunities in their market, and how Austrade can help exporters and investors take advantage of these opportunities.

In China, Liu Bing says the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement enhances Australia’s competitiveness in key sectors such as agriculture, resources, energy, manufacturing exports and services. She says Australian-made brands are well respected in China and Australian companies will find a receptive market for their offerings.

Leonie Muldoon in Japan says the Japan-Australia Economic Partnership Agreement opens up a large service sector market to Australian providers. She says Australian wealth management firms are particularly well positioned to benefit from the opportunities opened by the agreement, and to work with Japanese firms in third markets across Asia.

Korea’s Brett Cooper says the Korea-Australia Free Trade Agreement provides Australian service providers with the best access that Korea has agreed to with any trading partner. He says opportunities are especially good for financial services companies, legal firms and creative arts and digital content providers.

All three videos are available on Austrade’s website. You can also find out more on the North Asia FTAs and how your business can benefit by attending one of the free information seminars being run by the Australian Government across Australia.
