Overview

Australian telecommunications and wireless companies are known internationally for their innovative solutions. Consequently, there is an increasing demand for Australian products, services and technologies in international markets.

In particular, Australia is known as a world-leader in satellite and microwave solutions stemming from the need to develop systems to circumvent Australia’s vast land mass.

With international markets being more advanced than Australia, Australian exporters with cutting edge technology have needed to go offshore to find bigger markets for their solutions.

In 2005, A$603 million worth of communications equipment and A$742 million of communications services were exported from Australia.
