What is Utsav Australia?

Utsav Australia (Celebrate Australia) is a major Australian Government initiative to accelerate Australia’s growing commercial engagement with India.
 

It is a first-of-its-kind, sustained three-year marketing and promotions program developed to raise awareness of Australian business and industry among the Indian business community.

Utsav Australia is part of a $6.5 million Australian Government initiative announced in last year’s budget to provide additional Austrade representation and expanded reach into India.

Utsav Australia will be managed by Austrade and feature a series of year-round events to highlight the emerging business and investment opportunities across the sub-continent, including high-volume regional markets. These include key industry exhibitions, trade missions to India and buyer missions to Australia.

Austrade will also run industry promotion programs in the following sectors:

• advanced manufacturing and aviation;
• consumer retail;
• food and beverage;
• ICT;
• infrastructure including 2010 Commonwealth Games projects;
• mining and resources;
• services

Part of this program includes an exclusive business portal targeting Indian businesses, www.utsavaustralia.in. The new web channel highlights Australia’s industry capability, identifies live business opportunities, increases efficiency in identifying Australian suppliers and initiates long-term commercial outcomes.

Australian suppliers wanting to promote their business via this new portal can get a free listing on this site by applying before June 2008.
