The US Water Market (PDF, 1.6MB)
Opportunities and the path to market for Australian water businesses - November 2011

Austrade global network water export markets survey - Americas region

Water is a global issue, with shortages affecting agricultural production, food processing, industrial uses such as energy generation and basic sanitation affecting the lives of millions.

Australia is already known as the driest inhabited continent on earth. Combining this with various responses made over the last decade to the additional challenge of drought and emerging climate change, there has been enormous expertise and capability built up within Australia that can provide solutions to similar problems faced elsewhere.

Responding to this and the priority that the Australian Government places on water, Austrade recently undertook a survey of its global network and, utilising other sources of information has produced this report to highlight some of the challenges faced internationally in the water industry and to identify opportunities where Australian companies can participate in the trade and investment opportunities stemming from those challenges. Additional desktop research was also conducted to further highlight particular market regions.

This report is covers the Americas region spanning from Canada to the south of Chile.
