Austrade has had a substantial presence in China since the 1980s and has rapidly expanded its network over the past few years.

 

Austrade now has 14 offices across China, the largest number of points of presence of any foreign government.


With around 100 staff in 10 industry teams, the Austrade network provides a competitive advantage in accessing export and investment opportunities in the vast and highly diverse Chinese market.

Shanghai World Expo 2010

Australia will have a significant national presence at the Shanghai World Expo 2010 from May to October 2010.

The Australian pavilion will provide a unique platform to help strengthen business, cultural and people to people links with China. It will host a 'business program' of over 200 events including targeted seminars, high-level official visits, business networking events and trade and investment promotion activities.

China International Small and Medium Enterprise Fair

15-18 September

Australia is guest country of honour at the 7th CISMEF and Austrade is organising an Australian pavilion which will be Australia’s largest-ever trade presence in China.

CISMEF is China’s largest fair for SMEs in Guangzhou and in 2009 attracted 3,935 exhibitors and 254,600 visitors and achieved sales of A$20.6 billion.

Australia China Alumni Awards 2010

The awards recognise and celebrate the achievements of successful China-based alumni across a variety of fields. Austrade is proud to support the awards this year and is sponsoring the Entrepreneurs Award for 2010.

Nominations are open until 19 April, with winners announced in Shanghai on 10 July.
