Check your eligibility

The eligibility checklist has been designed to help you understand whether you should consider applying for an Export Market Development Grant.

Check your eligibility using the eligibility checklist

If you are unsure about your eligibility we suggest that you clarify any issues with your nearest EMDG office before you consider applying for a grant.  Contact Austrade on 13 28 78 or email us at emdg.help@austrade.gov.au.

Register for EMDG - first-time applicants only

Austrade recommends that first-time applicants register for EMDG by completing the online registration form. Austrade will confirm your registration in writing and provide an application kit to assist you with your application.

Please note that registering for EMDG does not mean you have applied for EMDG. You must still complete an application form and supporting schedules and submit these to Austrade between 1 July 2008 and 1 December 2008 in order to apply.

All applicants must ensure that their completed application is received by Austrade between 1 July and 1 December 2008. Austrade cannot, by law, accept late applications.  Read the EMDG claim acceptance policy for more details.

All required schedules must be submitted along with your completed application form.  In addition, if you are:

  • a first-time applicant
  • claiming expenses of $40,000 or more for an overseas representative, or
  • promoting goods that are not made in Australia

you must also submit other supporting documentation along with your completed application form.  Further details of these requirements can be found in A Guide to Applying for EMDG.

Please make sure that your application is complete and accurate so that we can process it as quickly as possible.
