Natasha Monks is Australia’s Trade Commissioner to Peru, leading a team based in Lima responsible for Trade and Education promotion, focused on diversifying and growing the commercial opportunity for Australian exporters, primarily in the key areas of market potential for Peru, such as METS, Agriculture, Food, Infrastructure, Health and Education.
Natasha champions and supports the global engagement of Australia’s international education sector through developing market potential, facilitating connections, defining pathways for market development and amplifying insights and opportunities from the region that can inform strategy to renew growth through her role as Education Sector Lead for the Americas.
Most recently prior, Natasha was managing the International Education team in Australia and has previously been Australian Trade Commissioner to the Philippines based in Manila. Before joining Austrade, she accumulated diverse professional management, entrepreneurial, business development, operations, and strategic marketing communications experience across multiple sectors in emerging and developed markets. She has held regional manager and director-level roles at global marketing communications agencies in Singapore and Thailand, founded an international business start-up in South-East Asia and led the development and delivery of a state international education brand in Australia.
A fluent Thai speaker, Natasha has a good comprehension of Spanish and Italian and was once a competitor on The Amazing Race Asia, a unique transformative experience that shaped her approach to a range of challenges.
