Marie Hill has been Austrade’s Trade Commissioner in Lima, Peru, since September 2016. She manages Australia’s trade and education promotion interests there. She also leads Austrade’s Education team in the Americas. Marie’s focus in Lima is on services and opportunities for clients in mining, agrifood, education, and transport. The focus of the Americas Education team is student recruitment, industry-aligned training, research and edtech. Prior to taking up her current roles, Marie worked in Austrade’s International Education Team in Australia. She was awarded an Australia Day Public Service Medal for her leadership of the Win your Future Unlimited competition in 2013. Before working with Austrade, Marie worked at the University of Melbourne, the US Foreign Commercial Service and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. She has a double degree in Commerce/Arts from the University of Melbourne.
