What is the MIP?

Austrade's MIP is a subscriber-based service that provides valuable and timely market insights, opportunities and MIP Orbis interactive data, to assist education providers and other stakeholders in the sector make informed decisions about their current and future activities. MIP products and services are provided by Austrade’s extensive network in Australia and overseas. For more information about the MIP, visit the MIP pages.

Am I eligible for a MIP subscription?

Eligibility for the MIP is limited to Australian organisations with a demonstrated commitment to the best interests of the Australian education sector. The full list of eligible organisations is set out in the Fee Schedule . Non-Australian organisations, or organisations that may not be beneficial to Australian interests, are not eligible.

How do I subscribe to the MIP?

Organisations: A MIP subscription is held by organisations, with access provided to (unlimited) individual staff members. To subscribe your organisation to the MIP, please visit the About the MIP page.

Individuals: Once your organisation has a MIP subscription, you can apply to be a member of that subscription at no additional cost. Click on the ‘Apply now’ link on the About the MIP page and follow the instructions. Your organisation’s MIP Account Manager will then approve your request and your MIP access will be available instantly. You will receive an email notification.

What is the MIP Weekly?

The MIP Weekly is a weekly email summary of new MIP content and education events that is distributed every Wednesday. A MIP subscription is not required to receive the MIP Weekly newsletter, however access to full articles on the Austrade website is restricted to MIP subscribers only.

Existing subscribers

I’m receiving error messages when I try to access MIP content

If you have recently paid for a subscription, it might take a few days for your MIP access to be activated. You will receive an email notification once your access has been granted.

If you have received an email notification that your MIP access has been activated but still receive an error message, please log out and then log back in again. If you continue to experience access problems contact us.

If you have only subscribed to the MIP Weekly newsletter and don’t have a MIP subscription you will not be able to access MIP content.

How many members can I have under my organisation’s subscription?

A MIP subscription is held by organisations, with access provided to an unlimited number of individual staff members. If you are a MIP Account Manager you can invite colleagues from your Manage Members page which you can access from your Austrade dashboard .

I’ve changed institutions – how do I update my MIP subscription?

If you have changed organisations you will need to subscribe under your new organisation’s subscription. You can change your organisation details in your Personal Profile and then click on the ‘Apply now’ link on the About the MIP page and follow the instructions. The organisation’s MIP account manager will approve your application and your MIP access will be available instantly. You will receive an email notification.

Will my subscription be automatically renewed?

No. We will be in contact with you before your current subscription expires and you can decide if you would like to renew your subscription or not.
