Ground transport

Kenya can be accessed by road from Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, South Sudan and Somalia. Public transport is not reliable and for business it is recommended to use either car hire or reputable cab companies.

Austrade can suggest reputable car hire companies and taxi services for visiting Australian business people.

It is recommended that you pre-arrange your transport. Your hotel may have a shuttle service and, if not, can refer you to a reputable one.

There are many hotels and resorts throughout the country that offer corporate rates and discounts and have modern, efficient business centres with complete computer, telecommunication and internet services.

One can enjoy several cuisines in Kenya. For further information visit the Kenya restaurant guide website.

Tipping is left to your discretion although the norm is around 10 per cent of a restaurant bill.
