Build industry capability

Do you know what government and industry programmes are out there to help with your labour and skills needs? Need to work more collectively across your region to address labour and skills needs? The below tools may assist.

Access the Workforce Planning Guide

Service Skills Australia has released a Workforce Planning Guide for the tourism and hospitality industry. The Guide provides practical advice on “planning your business around your people” - that is, making sure you’ve got the right people and skills to meet your business goals.

There is a strong relationship between effective human resource practices and a range of positive business outcomes. For example, businesses with higher levels of staff satisfaction and loyalty generally have happier customers who spend more, are more likely to return and more likely to recommend the business to their networks.

The Guide includes six simple steps to building workforce capability in your business. To start your workforce planning journey, download a copy of the Guide and utilise the workforce planning templates available from the SSA website.
