Tourism Australia will deliver three tourism programs as part of AWIC 2016:  a Business Events Greater China Showcase, a China Luxury Showcase and a VIP program.  

The VIP program is designed for industry leaders only. Program highlights can be found below. 

 The inaugural China Luxury Travel Showcase 2016 is designed to deliver access to buyers, to provide insights into market trends and for the industry to gain market intelligence.  Up to 20 Australian luxury products and up to 40 luxury travel agents or agents who have great potential in luxury travel business may participate in China Luxury Travel Showcase 2016. Participation offers the opportunity to:

  • Establish and strengthen relationships with key buyers
  • Gain insider knowledge of the China luxury travel market
  • Inspire buyers to contract or make Australia and your product a priority for their next luxury offering
  • Take advantage of a unique networking opportunity with buyers in a focused business environment

The Business Events Australia Greater China Showcase 2016 is designed to deliver access to buyers, to provide insights into market trends and for industry to gain market intelligence. The 2016 showcase format will include face-to-face meetings with agents and corporate buyers as well as a seminar to provide destination knowledge and updates for event agents within Shanghai. Applications for the Business Events program have closed.

  • VIP lunch with China Eastern Airlines and selected industry partners
  • Tourism market place: an opportunity to hear from Tourism Australia, a leading China Economist, partners and insights into the Chinese consumer

  • Plenary session
  • AWIC Gala Lunch
  • Meet buyers from Tourism Australia Business Events Showcase and Luxury Events Showcase
  • OBOR Breakfast: an update on Australia China Business Week
  • China Cultural Experience: visit key sites in Shanghai to further the understanding of the China Experience

There is no delegate fee for Tourism Stream VIPs who attend AWIC. All associated travel and accommodation costs must be covered by delegates independently.
