In its seventh year, the MENA Connection Seminars, a collaboration between Austrade
and the Australia-Arab Chamber of Commerce & Industry (AACCI), is
taking place from 18-25 November 2019 across key cities in
Australia – Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane.
The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region accounts for an estimated 6%
of the world's population, 60% of the world's oil reserves and 45% natural
gas reserves globally. According to the World Bank, economic growth in MENA
is expected to continue at a modest pace of about 1.5% to 3.5% during
With major events such as Expo 2020 Dubai and G20 taking place in the
region next year, a wide range of trade and investment opportunities are
available for Australian businesses in key sectors –
Education and Training, Agribusiness and Food, Resources and
and Digital Technology.
At the seminars, delegates will have an opportunity to network with
Australian Ambassadors and Austrade Trade Commissioners based in the
region, state government representatives, and other key allies and
understand how they work together to support Australian firms looking to do
