Discover New Australian Wines 2014 showcase

About event :

‘Discover New Australian Wines 2014’ is an Austrade organised Australian Wine Trade Showcase which aims to assist wineries to build relationships with Korean importers and seize the opportunities the Korea Australia Free Trade Agreement (KAFTA) will present when ratified.

The KAFTA was signed on 8 April this year and it is expected that ratification will take place by early 2015. When KAFKA enters into force, the 15 per cent import tax on Australian wines will be fully eliminated.
The objective of ‘Discover New Australian Wines 2014’ is to create excitement about Australian wines in the Korean market and to re-connect with Korean wine importers. The showcase will help to introduce a more diverse range of Australian wines and will aim to increase the overall Australian wine market share in Korea.

Why should you participate?

  • Benefit from rising interest in Australian wines and high expectations of the KAFTA effect.
  • Establish relationships with potential importers, sommeliers, wine media and key industry people prior to the KAFTA coming into effect.

  • Receive assistance from English speaking Korean sommeliers during the tasting and business meetings.
  • Obtain on-the-ground business advice on how to successfully operate in this market.
