2021 Leveraging on International Finance Institutions (DFI)
Official Development Assistance (ODA) is evolving to meet the changing needs of recipient member countries, integrate technology advances and address immediate challenges such the COVID-19 global pandemic. More ODA is channelled through major agencies such as the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the World Bank which recognise the importance of the private sector as a source of expertise and solutions, as well as co-financing. International aid-funded projects present significant opportunities for Australian organisations because of our expertise in relevant sectors, proven track record, knowledge and understanding of regional needs, and geographic proximity. These projects not only provide an alternate channel to developing markets with international standards of governance and transparency but can also pave the way for other development projects funded by the UN, bilateral aid agencies and non-government organisations (NGOs). Opportunities exist across the project lifecycle. Australian firms won over A$2.43 billion worth of ADB contracts since 1966, for example. Austrade invites you to join exclusive International Development webinars with the Development Finance International, Inc. (DFI) on 20 October 2021. DFI is an international business development advisory firm assisting the private sector in navigating the operational, policy, and procurement complexities of IFIs and devising sales and market entry strategies, risk mitigation and sustainable supply chains. Founded 29 years ago, DFI has delivered more than US$3 Billion in contracts and funding across diverse sectors. Leveraging on IFI Opportunities This webinar seeks to highlight the programs, funds and convening power of International Financing Institutions (IFIs) so that Australian companies are better placed to work with them in emerging markets. The webinar will focus on several major IFIs in Asia Pacific – ADB, World Bank, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and UN Agencies. It will provide an outline of IFIs’ geographic and sectoral priorities and associated programs and opportunities.

UK tenders, understanding the process and its differences with the Australian system - Webinar
Austrade London has identified UK tenders process as potential pathway for market entry for Australian businesses particularly across infrastructure, energy, manufacturing and Health sectors. There are a number of public tenders across the United Kingdom and given the open nature of the UK tendering process, these contracts could present a genuine opportunity for Australian companies that are looking at this market. The workshop will cover why and how UK tenders could be a good pathway to market, including a summary of the identified opportunities and case studies, and will also explore, with the support of our partner for this event, the existing process of tendering in the UK, offering Australian exporters a better understanding of how they can work under these opportunities.
