Minister for Trade and Investment's visit to Saudi Arabia

As part of the regional 2015 Australia Unlimited MENA Program, Minister Robb led the largest Australian delegation of CEOs, sectoral mission participants, state representatives and bilateral councils to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for a two-day promotional series.

The mission was aimed at presenting Australia's capability across key sectors, as well as to continue to press the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) – based in Riyadh – for movement on an Australia-GCC Free Trade Agreement.

During the visit, Austrade delivered a packed business programme with an opening seminar in conjunction with the Council of Saudi Chambers, featuring 120 senior Saudi and Australian leaders from vocational education, sustainable urban development, agriculture and finance sectors.

Highlights of the visit included an event for 400 businesspeople, a reception for alumni at the Australian Embassy and an Agricultural Investment Forum attended by sovereign wealth funds, the Chairman of Macquarie Bank, and Minister Robb.
