Minister for Trade and Investment's visit to the Philippines
The Hon Minister Robb AO MP led a delegation of 11 Australian infrastructure companies to Manila from 20-26 May, ahead of the APEC Ministers Responsible for Trade Meeting.
The business mission programme was targeted to provide Minister Robb and his business delegation with a greater understanding of the Philippine Government’s infrastructure agenda and to provide the Australian business delegation with access to key decision-makers in government and to their Philippines counterparts.
Activities organised during Minister Robb’s visit included briefings from KPMG and the Asian Development Bank as well as an infrastructure roundtable discussion with high level officials from the relevant Philippine Government departments in infrastructure development. A highlight of the visit was the business to business lunch with 150 executives of leading Philippines infrastructure, property development, architectural and engineering consultancy companies.
Austrade and the Australian-New Zealand Chamber of the Philippines co-sponsored a business networking reception for the Minister and his delegation.
