Minister for Trade, Tourism & Investment & Minister for Defence visit to Singapore
The Hon Steven Ciobo MP, Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment led a delegation of 20 construction, engineering, communications and technology businesses to Singapore, 21-23 August 2017.
The mission underlined the Australian Government’s vision to expand the trade and economic relationship with Singapore under the Australia-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP), and to highlight the benefits arising from the SAFTA Review (to be ratified later in 2017). The visit highlighted the collaboration opportunities for Australian businesses in cyber security and the construction and build sectors that harnessed the Singapore government’s Smart Nation and development initiatives.
Minister Ciobo announced a number of agreements at the Singapore Landing Pad with Australian start-ups Anatomics and CEC Systems.
Joining Minister Ciobo in Singapore was Senator the Hon Marise Payne, Minister for Defence, who led a delegation of 22 business and local government entities focussed on the Australia-Singapore Military Training Initiative in Northern Queensland under the CSP. Minister Payne was also joined by Senator the Hon Ian Macdonald, Senator for Queensland and Ms Michelle Landry MP, Member for Capricornia.
