Catherine Taylor leads Austrade’s Trade and Investment team in International Health, promoting and facilitating foreign
investment and trade in the national interest. Since joining Austrade, she
has advised Australian companies across a range of industries to succeed in
some of the nation’s largest export markets.
Catherine has a background in private- and public-sector roles in Australia
and overseas, and held senior positions in trade and investment
development, diplomacy and marketing.
The International Health team supports Australian exporters through
proactive work under the global trade themes ‘Intelligent Health Solutions’
and ‘Senior Living and Health’, prioritising initiatives where global
demand aligns with exporter competitive capability, capacity to
In the investment space, Catherine’s focus is on attracting foreign direct
investment into life sciences, ranging from early-stage discovery research
to greenfield and brownfield investment, to product development
partnerships, as well as drug-discovery development, medical devices and
digital health solutions.
Catherine has lived and worked in Japan for 18 years and speaks Japanese.
She is a graduate of Monash University and holds postgraduate
qualifications from Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne.
