Stuart Rees is Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner for Austrade, South Asia. He heads the Australian government’s Investment, Agribusiness and Food, Defence and Advanced Technology teams across South Asia.
Stuart was appointed to India in August 2019 and managed the Australia India Business Exchange program which was delivered in February 2020. He was previously Trade Commissioner to Thailand and has undertaken short term postings in India and Papua New Guinea. Prior to that Stuart was State Director Victoria and Tasmania. He has led several trade and investment development missions throughout Asia, the USA and EU and considered an expert with deep ASEAN experience in supporting the growth of multinational and SME exporters across a diverse range of sectors.
Stuart joined Austrade in 2005 after an earlier professional career in finance and agribusiness. He was raised in rural Victoria, Australia. In his early youth spent some time as a Jackaroo and is a graduate of Marcus Oldham College – Australia’s leading agricultural tertiary institution.

Adil Mohamed is the Team Leader for Investment and Innovation in South Asia. Based at Australian Consulate-General in Chennai Adil works with John Madew, Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner and a team of investment attraction professionals in developing Austrade’s investment attraction and facilitation strategies across South Asia. Prior to this position, he has led Australia’s industry strategy in South Asia for range of industry sectors including advanced manufacturing, smart infrastructure, building & construction and has been the India representative for Australian Government’s Automotive Market Access Program.
Adil has 21 years of experience in working with diverse set of clients in India and abroad. He has a Bachelors Mechanical Engineering with distinction, an MBA in Marketing & Finance and is a qualified e-business professional. He has a strong and progressive career track record in the areas of international marketing, strategic business
development and program management. Prior to Austrade he worked for the auto component division of Ford Motor Company, where he was instrumental in developing and winning non-Ford business and managed global customer accounts of Indian, American, European, Japanese and Korean car manufacturers.

Tim manages Austrade’s flagship trade and investment promotion program in India the Australia-India Business Exchange (AIBX). AIBX is a digital-first and partner-driven program that aims to build two-way business literacy and driver commercial outcomes in priority sectors, including agrifood, mining & resources, infrastructure and education.
Tim also leads Austrade’s Marketing and Mining & Resources teams in South Asia and manages Austrade’s New Delhi and Kolkata, and Dhaka posts.
Previously Tim served with Austrade in Greater China where he led Austrade’s Healthcare team and managed the agency’s West China presence.
Tim also worked for more than 10 years with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade across roles in China and Canberra.
He holds degrees in Law (with Honours) and Asian Studies from the Australian National University.

Sarah is currently the Trade and Investment Commissioner for the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) in New Delhi. She is currently focussed on the Australian government’s Education and Healthcare sectors across South Asia.
Sarah has over ten years of experience with the Australian Government, holding key roles in Australia and internationally, including in the Middle East and Europe. These roles focused on healthcare commercialisation, international trade and investment, and business strategy.
In her most recent role as the Health Sector Lead, Sarah established the Middle East and Africa health team. She developed and successfully delivered the sector strategy across the region. She has been successful in promoting Australia’s capability across sectors and in supporting Australian businesses throughout their export journeys.
Sarah holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology and is an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society. She is also completing an Executive MBA through the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
