Procedures for determining breaches of the APS Code of Conduct and the Imposition of Sanctions.

Code of Conduct procedures

Subsection 15(3) of the Public Service Act 1999 (the PS Act) imposes an obligation on Chief Executive Officer to establish written procedures for determining whether an employee of the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), may have breached their obligations under the Code of Conduct, and what action should be imposed on the employee if a breach is found.

These code of conduct procedures are made available to the public in the interests of promoting transparency and accountability in decision making, and to facilitate public confidence and trust in the public service.  The code of conduct procedures apply to current and former Austrade employees and set the framework for how suspected breaches of the code of conduct will be considered and investigated.
