International education sector shows support with #InThisTogether

25 Feb 2020

Study in Australia, in collaboration with states and territories — is supporting a grassroots #InThisTogether social media campaign to continue to support students onshore and abroad who have been impacted by travel restrictions. This crowd-sourced approach creates a platform for education providers and students to share messages of support to those impacted by travel restrictions to Australia.

The campaign is helping create a shared, collaborative voice for Australia to show empathy to international students and unite the international education sector with one clear message, that ‘we are all in this together’. It is a voice for Australians to show the Chinese student community we care, while also providing a platform for students abroad to communicate with our local community.

Education partners and associations are encouraged to include and tag #InThisTogether when sharing information and messages to impacted international students, and to promote the campaign among the wider community via social platforms and networks.

Study in Australia can also provide messaging and creative support to any partners who would like to promote the campaign, and share efforts from around the country to a wider onshore and offshore audience. If you would like further information on how to get on board, please email studyinaustralia@austrade.gov.au

This recent LinkedIn post and video by Study Queensland — featuring care packages prepared for students who were in self-isolation — is a great example of how our education partners are all #InThisTogether and making international students feel welcome, supported and enthusiastic about their study experience in Australia.

Study in Australia and its partners are here to support our Chinese community. Whether you are in Australia or abroad, visit the Study in Australia website and follow our social media channels for further updates and initiatives.
