Study Australia virtual education showcase a success

30 Aug 2021

Austrade South Asia recently delivered the ‘Study Australia Virtual Education Showcase’. Presented in August 2021, the objective of the showcase was to promote Australia’s online education and edtech capabilities in South Asia.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the online education and edtech sectors have seen accelerated growth in India. Opportunities are emerging to access learners in the South Asia region by leveraging Australian curriculum and edtech solutions, platforms and online programs.

This event was run on a virtual platform which provided access to a virtual lobby, exhibition hall and an auditorium.

Austrade ran five panel discussions, one edtech pitch session in collaboration with Startup India, and delivered two pre-recorded addresses. These sessions were presented by The Hon Barry O'Farrell AO, Australia’s High Commissioner to India; and Catherine Gallagher, General Manager, Austrade South Asia. The showcase platform is active until 3 September 2021, for interested parties to view the session recordings.

The showcase, organised as a part of the Australian Government’s Australia-India Business Exchange program, produced the following results:

  • the marketing campaign delivered 13 million impressions
  • there were 13,894 clicks through to the campaign landing page
  • over 1,600 students, education institutions and edtech companies from South Asia registered for the event
  • Austrade recorded 2,615 visits to the booths of 20 participating Australian institutions and edtech companies, of which 962 were recorded as unique visits

The South Asia international education team will be connecting with participating institutions and edtech companies in Australia to follow-up with the business leads and support continuous engagement in the market.
