The mining cluster of Zacatecas in Mexico is looking for content from Australian providers of skills and training. Mining in Mexico represents an important contribution to the economy – during 2019 it counted for 3.6 per cent of Mexico’s GDP. Copper, lead, zinc, gold, silver, iron ore and coal are among the top minerals extracted. Mining activity takes place in many states around the country, with the states of Zacatecas, Sonora and Coahuila grouped in clusters in order to promote and incubate mining activities and mining equipment technologies and services (METS).
