ASEAN — Report on student pathways and implications for promotional strategy

Many ASEAN students who choose Australia as their study destination for VET or higher education have visited before as a tourist, a working holiday maker or even as a student in another sector.

This report analyses the most popular pathways for ASEAN students to assist international education providers with promotional strategy and business development. Market-by-market insights follow from page two.

Key finding include:

  • A significant number of future higher education and VET students from ASEAN are already in the Australian education system
  • Where possible, partnerships should be formed between institutions to cross promote courses to existing onshore students
  • Student pathways in ASEAN are not homogenous. Note the trends by market and sector, to increase the likelihood of recruitment success
