A new report released today reveals the strength of Australia’s export capabilities and expertise in quantum technology.
Developed by Quantum Australia in partnership with the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), the Australian Quantum Technology Industry Capability Report outlines Australia’s current strengths and future opportunities in quantum technologies.
After 30 years of direct public investment, Australia’s quantum industry is a rapidly growing commercial sector with more than 40 quantum-related businesses. Supported by the National Quantum Strategy released in May 2023, Australia is an innovative partner for international markets.
Australia’s research is internationally renowned, with 26 dedicated quantum research organisations around the country and more than 60 academic research groups conducting cutting-edge work.
Backed by a strong research environment, a coherent national strategy, and a growing cohort of export focused companies, Australia’s quantum industry is translating innovation into export-ready applications.
The report profiles 5 Australian quantum technology companies developing quantum sensing, communications and computing products, alongside quantum enablers and quantum educational tools.
