Jennifer is the Acting General Manager for Europe and Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner for United Kingdom, Ireland and Nordics for the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (“Austrade”). Having lived in France for almost 20 years, Jennifer was previously Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner for France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium and Luxembourg between June 2015 and November 2019. She has a deep knowledge of European markets and doing business in Europe.

Prior to joining Austrade, Jennifer worked as a lawyer for international law firm Clifford Chance in Paris for 15 years. She specialised in Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity and advised both international and French clients. She was also the head of the Paris firm's client development, marketing and communications team with responsibility for France, Turkey and Africa for five years before joining Austrade in June 2015.

Jennifer holds an Arts Law degree from the University of Sydney. She was admitted as a lawyer to the Supreme Court of NSW in 1994 and admitted as a French 'avocat' to the Paris bar in 2003. She speaks French, Italian and Spanish. In 2018 she completed the Defence Industry Study Course.

Jennifer is responsible for the defence sector for Austrade across Europe. She leads the Austrade teams seeking to leverage the investment, trade and research and development collaboration opportunities flowing from the Australian Defence Programs.

Anastasia, or better known as Ana, is the current Trade and Investment Commissioner for United Kingdom, Ireland and Russia. From her base in London, Ana is responsible for facilitating trade and investment opportunities for Australia. She leads a team of business development professionals that connect Australian exporters with commercial opportunities in the regions of the United Kingdom, Ireland and Russia. 

In her previous roles at Austrade, Ana led the Strategy and Business Transformation office responsible for the development and implementation of Austrade’s global strategy, planning and transformation initiatives to position Austrade for the future. She worked on a suite of projects as part of the Austrade Organisational Capability Assessment and Austrade International Network Review. 

Ana was also posted as Australia’s Trade and Investment Commissioner to San Francisco where she was responsible for facilitating trade, investment and international education opportunities between the Western and Northwestern states of the USA and Australia, including the management of the Australian Landing Pad program in San Francisco. 

Prior to joining Austrade, Ana worked in a variety of roles at the Clean Energy Regulator and the Department of Treasury. 

Ana is a graduate of the University of Canberra with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology majoring in Business Management. She was born and lived in Ukraine, and is a fluent Russian speaker.

Julianne’s focus is on foreign direct investment into Australia within the ICT/digitech, digital health and agri-food sectors. Previously Julianne has also led on tourism and leisure infrastructure investment, cleantech, major economic infrastructure, and professional and financial services.

Kathleen Devereaux - Investment Director UK and Ireland

Kathleen focuses on foreign direct investment into Australia within the energy, cleantech and infrastructure sectors. Previously Kathleen also led on biotechnology and ICT and represented Australia’s commercial interests with the World Bank and United Nations.

Chris Cobb - Senior Business Development Manager UK and Ireland

In London, Chris focuses on supporting Australian FinTech and RegTech companies entering and growing in the UK and Irish markets, and developing two-way trade and investment in the civil and commercial Space sector, aligned to the bilateral UK-Australia Fintech and Space Bridges. Previously, at Austrade São Paulo, Chris developed investment and trade opportunities in the Agribusiness and Bioenergy sectors between Brazil and Australia, and was regional manager for the British Consulate General in Recife Brazil.

Andy’s focus is on advising and assisting Australian defence, security and dual-use technology companies on joint venture partnerships, trade, expansion and investment within the UK and EU Markets. Previously, Andy also led on attracting foreign direct investment into Australia within the cyber security, fintech, financial services and advanced manufacturing industries.

Namali Mackay – Senior Trade and Investment Advisor

Namali focuses on supporting Australian tech companies entering and growing in the UK and Irish markets, including those in the AI, cybersecurity, and big data sub-sectors. She also supports two-way trade and investment in the critical minerals industry. With her background as a diplomat and trade negotiator, most recently a trade advisor and trainer for UK companies on specialist Brexit trade issues, Namali is also leading our engagement with companies around opportunities arising from the Australia-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

Alberto focusses on assisting Australian agribusiness and infrastructure/transport companies to evaluate the UK and Irish markets and identify business opportunities. Alberto has lived and worked in a number of countries, developing knowledge and understanding of multiple industry sectors. Most recently Alberto worked for the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the UK.

Ana Bisaillon – Trade and Investment Advisor, Australia-UK Season of Culture

Ana’s focus is on building the Austrade business program that will accompany the Australia-UK Season of Culture (August – December 2021). The Season provides the opportunity to underline the existing strength and future potential of the bilateral commercial relationship between Australia and the UK thanks to the conclusion of an Australia-United Kingdom Free Trade Agreement. Ana has previously worked in foreign direct investment, international trade and event management in the UK and United States in both the private and public sectors.
