Anastasia (Ana) is the current Trade and Investment Commissioner for the United Kingdom and Ireland. From her base in London, Ana is responsible for facilitating trade and investment opportunities for Australia. She leads a team of business development professionals that connect Australian exporters with commercial opportunities in the regions of the United Kingdom and Ireland, and facilitate productive foreign direct investment into Australia.
In her previous roles at Austrade, Ana led the Strategy and Business Transformation office responsible for the development and implementation of Austrade’s global strategy, planning and transformation initiatives to position Austrade for the future. Ana was also posted as Australia’s Trade and Investment Commissioner to San Francisco where she was responsible for facilitating trade, investment, and international education opportunities between the western and north-western states of the US and Australia.

Julianne leads the UK investment team promoting foreign direct investment into Australia. Her own portfolio currently includes ICT/digital technologies including agritech and digital health. She has previous investment experience in tourism and leisure infrastructure, cleantech, and professional and financial services industries, as well as experience in trade promotion.

Kathleen has worked with Austrade since 1995. Kathleen currently leads the energy, infrastructure circular economy foreign direct investment portfolio for the UK. Kathleen's previous experience with Austrade include investment work in the ICT, healthcare, fast moving consumer goods and creative industries sectors, and business development with the World Bank and the United Nations.

Chris has worked for Austrade since 2014. In London, Chris focuses on supporting Australian fintech and regtech companies entering and growing in the UK and Irish markets. He also develops two-way trade and investment in the civil and commercial space sector, aligned to the bilateral UK-Australia FinTech and Space Bridges. Previously, at Austrade São Paulo, Chris developed investment and trade opportunities in the agribusiness and bioenergy sectors between Brazil and Australia. He was also regional manager for the British Consulate General in Recife, Brazil.

Andy joined Austrade UK in 2013 following trade and investment roles at the Canadian High Commission in the UK. Andy currently works on inward investment in the fintech sector aligned to the UK-Australia FinTech Bridge. Andy’s previous roles at Austrade have included promoting inward investment in the ICT and cyber sectors and promoting Australia’s defence export capability to customer networks and governments in the UK.

Alberto currently supports Australian agribusiness and related companies interested in doing business in the UK and Ireland. He also leads on the Agribusiness Expansion Initiative (ABEI). Previously, Alberto assisted Australian energy, infrastructure, and transport companies to evaluate the UK and Irish markets and identify business opportunities.

Ana’s focus is on foreign direct investment into Australia within the digital games and immersive tech sectors. Ana also works on building the Business Program accompanying the Australia-UK Season of Culture 2021-2022. Prior to her time at Austrade, Ana’s previous roles involved consultancy in economic development, business event management and export assistance in the UK and US in both the private and public sectors.

John was appointed UK Defence & Security Director for Austrade in May 2021. Prior to this, he worked in the UK defence sector in both government and industry. Much of his experience has involved operating at the interface between the two. Immediately before joining Austrade, John spent 12 years with BAE Systems in the UK and overseas, in a range of senior business development roles.

Will joined Austrade in 2021. He currently supports Australian agribusiness exporters with expansion into the UK and Ireland and leads on the delivery of the Agribusiness Expansion Initiative (ABEI). Will has 20 years of international food sector experience across the UK, Irish and Australian markets. He has worked with many global businesses including Nestle Professional UK, Heinz UK and Dale Farm Ltd., helping them grow and expand.

Brian joined Austrade in 2021 to support Australia’s internationally ambitious businesses in the energy, infrastructure, and tech sectors to succeed in the UK and Ireland. Before joining Austrade, Brian worked at Barclays for 20 years. He has spent a significant portion of his career working for the UK Government’s Department for International Trade (DIT) helping international businesses across all sectors in the UK.

Karin joined Austrade in August 2021. Based in London, she is responsible for Austrade’s European, UK and Ireland marketing strategy, promoting Australia as an investment destination and Australian exporter capabilities. She currently works on the Australia-UK Free Trade Agreement, the UK-Australia Season of Culture 2021-22, and on Austrade’s priority sectors including clean energy, agrifood and advanced tech.
