Procore, a leading US provider of cloud-based applications for the construction industry, has opened an office in Sydney.

California-based Procore has expanded into the South Pacific region in response to significant demand from businesses in Australia and New Zealand for project management solutions.

The company now has more than two million users around the world who manage billions of dollars’ worth of construction projects each year, ranging from industrial plants and office buildings to apartment complexes and retail centres.

The specialised software Procore has developed helps construction companies increase project efficiency and accountability by streamlining and mobilising a project’s communications and documentation. The software uses real-time data to minimise risks and delays.

CEO of Procore, Tooey Courtemanche, says the company is thrilled to be officially opening its first international office in Sydney. ‘Procore's expansion into Australia is in response to strong demand from local clients and other businesses across the construction industry for flexible solutions that will enable them to reduce costs, improve safety, and deliver projects within budget and on time.’

Procore began to explore the idea of opening an office in Australia a few years ago. There are a lot of parallels in the markets because the Australian and United States’ construction industries are similar in many ways, including in language, processes and construction needs.

The new Sydney office covers sales, marketing, and product implementation for Asia-Pacific and is staffed by product support professionals who can give local customers faster service within their local time zones.
