ActiveCampaign chooses Australia for its first international office

US marketing automation tech startup ActiveCampaign has opened its first international office in Sydney.
In a company blog, Jason VandeBoom, founder and CEO, says the software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider is committed to creating more than 50 jobs in its first year of operating in Sydney. These will include technical, account management and sales roles. He also adds that the company is looking forward to expanding its presence in Australia.
‘Australia is our second largest market outside of the US,’ says VandeBoom. ‘The proximity to our customers, access to talent and the favourable time zone all worked in sync, making Sydney a natural choice as our first international office.’
Founded in Chicago in 2003, ActiveCampaign’s SaaS tools are used by sales and marketing specialists to automate processes such as email campaigns. The company hopes to better enable small and medium-sized businesses in Australia to access intelligent marketing automation technology, which is normally only accessible to larger companies with big budgets.
ActiveCampaign’s Sydney office will service domestic clients and neighbouring international markets.
‘Our Sydney office will help us better support local customers and the greater Asia-Pacific region as we continue to give small businesses access to easy-to-use marketing automation technology typically reserved for enterprise businesses,’ says VandeBoom.
Austrade, in conjunction with NSW Trade and Investment, has supported ActiveCampaign’s establishment in Australia.
