Australia a Top Ten destination for foreign investment

Australia has been listed as a Top Ten global destination for foreign direct investment (FDI) for the fourth year in a row by the World Investment Report 2015, published by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

Australia attracted US$162 billion in FDI inflows over the three years to 2014 – up nearly 30 per cent from US$125 billion during the previous three years.

This result reflects Australia’s credentials as an investment destination, underpinned by its strong economic growth, strategic location, global trade and investment ties, and proven record of innovation.
