Singapore-Australia Cybersecurity: Collaborations to Strengthen the Future Economy
The Australian Trade & Investment Commission (Austrade) in partnership with AustCyber and SGInnovate will be organising an event on Monday, 15 July 2019 which will spotlight on bilateral collaborations and cybersecurity developments and innovations in Australia and Singapore, through an engaging panel discussion and showcase of Australian cybersecurity companies.
A delegation of Cyber companies will be in Singapore for the RSA Conference, commencing on Tuesday, 16 July. Leading this delegation will be Ms Michelle Price, Chief Executive Officer of AustCyber. Joining her will be Dr. Lesley Seebeck CEO of the Australian National University’s Cyber Institute.
Australia and Singapore have a shared vision of cybersecurity as an enabler which supports innovation, economic growth and social development. Both countries have stepped up efforts to forge strong international partnerships, including the 2017 MoU to enhance cybersecurity cooperation and the 2018 ASEAN-Australia Cyber Policy Dialogue for greater policy exchange and capacity building. In June 2019, Singapore PM Lee and Australian PM Scott Morrison reaffirmed cybersecurity as one of the key areas for deepening collaborations.
The Australian Government’s A$47m Joint Cyber Security Centre program model that facilitates stronger partnerships between 101 organisations across private and public sectors, including defence industry, finance, transport, energy, health, mining, and education, can be useful to leverage for Singapore.
The evening will begin with a Panel Discussion on Singapore-Australia Cybersecurity: Collaborations to Strengthen the Future Economy with Dr. Lesley Seebeck and Ms Michelle Price. Additional speakers will be advised nearer the date.
