Austrade LA hosts its first USA surf seminar virtually
Austrade Los Angeles recently hosted a live video briefing with a panel of US-based speakers who gave advice to 23 businesses in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane about how to break into the rapidly expanding surf, beach culture and related industries in the US. Topics covered latest leisure trends, distribution channels, product liability and trademark issues.
The expert panel featured speakers Peter Townend, first world champion of professional surfing and founder of marketing and consulting firm, The ActivEmpire; Jennie L Ferrette, Associate Producer at Hayward, Tilton & Rolapp Insurance; Bryan Friedman, Attorney of Record for Billabong; and Jesse Faen, President of Insight Clothing. This was the first in a series of quarterly seminars, with the next one to occur in September and explore sales, distribution and tradeshows in the US. Trends and opportuntiies: Sportswear and outdoor goods to Scandinavia
Scandinavians are among the top consumers of sports and outdoor related goods and services in the European Union (EU): Finland (highest), Sweden (second highest) and Denmark (fourth highest). The market for sports and outdoor goods has continued to grow steadily in the past four years.
