The Accessing New Markets Initiative (ANMI) is a $50 million surge program. It helps Australian businesses to rapidly diversify into new export markets and capitalise on growth opportunities in established markets. ANMI is designed and jointly delivered by Austrade and industry.
International trade is essential for driving Australia’s economic growth and resilience. One in four Australian jobs is trade-related, and nearly a third of Australia’s economic output is supported by trade.
With an increasing level of global economic uncertainty, new strategies are required to stay resilient and competitive. ANMI is the latest in a series of investments by Government to support exporters in diversifying their export markets.
ANMI is underpinned by coordinated, cohesive delivery across Commonwealth, state and territory governments, and industry. An adaptive delivery model enables the program to readily respond to market conditions and shifting trade flow.
Through a newly established Trade Diversification Network (TDN), eligible national peak industry bodies are working with Austrade to design tailored export promotion activities, addressing the specific needs of each sector. This deep engagement will also shape the future of how Austrade and industry work together beyond ANMI by identifying strategies to best support exporters in the long term.
ANMI will deliver enduring outcomes, build long-term trade resilience and growth opportunities for Australian businesses. Working with national peak industry bodies, ANMI leverages the combined capabilities and experience of government and industry to support:
Businesses are already benefiting from ANMI, with 55 strategic activities underway. ANMI funding has enabled expanded programs with larger delegations, additional business matching and enhanced experiences at key events. This has included Asia Fruit Logistica, Quantum World Congress, Perumin and China International Import Expo, with more ANMI supported events throughout 2026 and beyond.
ANMI provides an opportunity to innovate and explore new ways to support Australian exporters. I’m excited to be working in collaboration with peak industry bodies to help Australian businesses diversify their exports and become more resilient.
