Todd joined Austrade in January 2022 and was appointed as Trade and Investment Commissioner and Counsellor (Commercial) in June 2022. Based in Riyadh, Todd leads the markets of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Jordan, Bahrain and Egypt, and leads the Agribusiness Food and Infrastructure sectors for the Middle East African region. 

Prior to this appointment, Todd enjoyed a seven-year career with the South Australian Government’s Trade and Investment Department, most recently leading South Australia’s overseas office network from 2018-2021. From 2016-2018 Todd was General Manager International Trade, leading the trade adviser team for South Australia. In 2014-2016 Todd was a TradeStart Adviser in Adelaide, advising over 300 exporters. Todd led a number of overseas trade missions from 2014-2019 to key markets of China, India and South East Asia. 

Prior to Todd’s Government career from 2009-2014 he founded and owned his own export business in the private sector, exporting Australian consumer products to the United States. At the height of his business, Todd had Australian products selling in over 7,000 stores fronts across the United States that included Wal-Mart, Wholefoods, Costco and Sam’s Club. 

Todd has worked on every continent and has international experience across agribusiness, food, wine and beverage, infrastructure, defence, and health sectors. He also has experience in sales, marketing, distribution, supply chain and wholesale/retail strategies. 

Todd is based in Riyadh with his wife Sharon, and has three daughters and two grandchildren in Australia.
