Jodi McKay serves as Consul (Commercial) and Australia’s Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner for South Asia. She is currently completing her pre-posting arrangements in Sydney and will be based in Mumbai starting July 2026.
Prior to her appointment with Austrade, Jodi was the Director of the Australia India CEO Forum with the Business Council of Australia where she led the premier economic forum for corporate engagement, working at the most senior levels of industry and government to grow trade and investment between the two nations.
Jodi has been an Advisory Board member of the Centre for Australia India Relations (CAIR), National Chair of the Australia India Business Council and a Vice Chancellor’s Fellow South Asia for Western Sydney University. She has been a director of numerous government and non-government boards including Destination NSW and Business Events Sydney, responsible for delivering the visitor economy strategy for Sydney.
Jodi’s experience in expanding economic ties with India and the South Asia region is underpinned by 15 years in the NSW Parliament including as a Cabinet Minister and Leader of the Opposition. Jodi has a Master of Public Administration from the University of Sydney.
