Mary is Austrade’s

Mary is Austrade’s Trade and Investment Commissioner for South Asia based in Mumbai. She leads the Critical and Enabling Technology team.

Mary’s focus areas also include supporting commercial investment into Australia, particularly in the technology sector, and managing Austrade’s initiatives to promote Australian technology and life sciences capabilities in South Asia.

Mary is also Austrade South Asia’s Diversity and Inclusion Champion and enjoys supporting and celebrating diversity in such a dynamic and fast-growing region.

Prior to her appointment Mary held numerous roles in the Australian public service including at the Department of Industry to implement national policies to strengthen Australian supply chains . This included facilitating offshore in-market connections that positively contributed to the economic growth and prosperity of Australia.

Her international experience includes working for a multilateral economic forum in China, leading programs to increase the share of renewables in the region’s energy mix.

Mary holds tertiary qualifications in Political Science and Chinese from the University of Queensland.
