Megha Gupta is the Trade and Investment Commissioner for Austrade and Counsellor (Commercial) at the Australian High Commission in Dhaka, Bangladesh. She leads Austrade’s operations in Bangladesh, with a focus on advancing Australia’s trade and investment priorities across key sectors including agribusiness, education, and the green economy.
With over 17 years of professional experience, including 12 years in public service, Megha has a strong track record of designing and delivering government priority programs across sectors and international markets. Since joining Austrade in September 2019, she has played an important role in strengthening bilateral economic engagement and supporting Australian businesses pursuing opportunities in Bangladesh.
Prior to her current role, Megha worked within Australia’s international education ecosystem. She held positions with the Queensland Government’s Department of Education International and the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), where she contributed to global education initiatives and stakeholder engagement.
Megha brings a multicultural perspective to her work in international relations and trade promotion. She holds master’s degrees in Information Technology and Marketing Communication from QUT, and bachelor’s degrees in Information Technology and English Literature.
