South Asia Business Exchange (SABX)

Austrade is responsible for the expanded Australia India Business Exchange (AIBX), now known as South Asia Business Exchange (SABX).

About SABX

SABX aims to deepen:

  • two-way business literacy – boosting the confidence and capability to do business between Australia and South Asia
  • commercial outcomes – grow and diversify bilateral trade and investment links between Australia and South Asia.

2024-2028

  • The Australian Government made the decision to expand the successful Australia India Business Exchange (AIBX). This helps Australian businesses benefit from new trade and investment opportunities with India and South Asia (See media release: Securing Australia’s future in the world).
  • Austrade will reposition AIBX from a country-specific program to a regional program, with specific initiatives for India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka for country specific engagements
  • Austrade will continue to deliver high-impact programs across priority sectors. This includes additional trade services, business missions, events and other awareness-raising activities. For example, onshore roadshows and online resources.
  • In February 2025 the Australian Government launched A New Roadmap for Australia’s Economic Engagement with India. The Roadmap focuses and accelerates our efforts to make the most of India’s growth and tap into its enormous trade and investment opportunities. Austrade’s delivery of SABX is aligned with and guided by the Roadmap.
