Asia eyes Australian agrifood at FHA–Food & Beverage 2025

Australia’s premium food and beverage attracted high interest from regional buyers looking for new suppliers.

Australia was proud to be the Partner Country at FHA–Food & Beverage 2025, Asia’s premier international food and beverage trade event, held in Singapore from 8–11 April. This milestone participation highlighted Australia’s commitment to strengthening agrifood trade ties with Southeast Asia.

Largest Australian presence

The Australia Pavilion featured over 120 leading Australian food and beverage companies – the largest Australian delegation at any global trade show to date. From sustainable meats and gourmet cheeses to innovative food technologies and premium beverages, Australia’s world-class offerings were on full display.

The Pavilion attracted significant regional interest and facilitated valuable connections between Australian exporters and international buyers.

Australia’s diverse agrifood in the spotlight

Austrade, in partnership with state governments and industry bodies, delivered a high-impact program of activities that demonstrated Australia’s strength and diversity in the agrifood sector:

  • The Australian Showcase: A vibrant stage for engagement featuring daily live cooking demonstrations, interactive tastings, and thought-provoking innovation seminars. Topics ranged from food sustainability to future-ready food solutions, and included speakers from CSIRO and Australian agtech startups.
  • Business matching: Austrade hosted and facilitated meetings with over 300 invited buyers from across Southeast Asia, creating export opportunities and helping Australian businesses expand their reach in the region.

Regional buyers looking for new agrifood suppliers

Austrade’s Agrifood Business Development Managers (BDMs) across Southeast Asia were involved in a range of positive discussions during the event. There was strong interest from regional buyers in Australia’s premium, safe, and sustainable food offerings.

Australia is also poised to benefit from recent developments in global trade dynamics. With the United States introducing tariffs on several Southeast Asian countries, regional buyers are increasingly seeking alternative, high-quality suppliers to replace their US agrifood imports. Australia’s reputation for quality and reliability makes it a preferred partner in this evolving landscape.

Chris Morley, Austrade’s Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner in Vietnam, emphasised the significance of Australia’s role at the event.

‘FHA–Food & Beverage 2025 has been instrumental in showcasing Australia’s premium food and beverage offerings,’ he says. ‘The strong interest from regional buyers reaffirms our position as a trusted supplier committed to quality and sustainability. We’re proud to support these connections and help drive new opportunities for export growth into Southeast Asia.’

Looking ahead

As Southeast Asia’s demand for high-quality, safe and sustainable food continues to grow, Australia remains well-positioned to meet these evolving needs. Austrade will continue to support Australian agrifood businesses in expanding their presence through targeted market development, strategic matchmaking, and on-the-ground expertise.
