Australian Industry Skills Partnership Program - Philippines

About event:

The Australian Industry Skills Partnership Program-Philippines aims to provide participating Australian training providers with the latest information and networks relating to the Philippines workforce development and associated skill demand.

The initiative will bring together key stakeholders from the Philippine government, academia and industry to discuss the education and training landscape and industry policies in the country. The program will provide access to opportunities to deliver targeted education and training, meeting local demand and curriculum gaps through business matching with local education providers and industry representatives.

Austrade invites Australian vocational education and training (VET) providers and non-degree program providers who are looking to expand in the Philippine market for transnational education (TNE) partnerships and offshore delivery of programs (accredited and non-accredited). The programs can range across short programs, certificate, diploma and advanced diplomas in high demand fields such as innovation, entrepreneurship, data analytics, cybersecurity, blockchain, automation and robotisation, project management, sustainable construction, health, and hospitality.

Who should participate:

Australian vocational and training providers who are looking to expand into the Philippine/ASEAN markets through the offshore delivery of their programs. Programs can range from certificates, to diplomas and advanced diplomas, short, non-degree programs in emerging and high demand fields such as Innovation and ICT (cybersecurity, data analytics, blockchain, etc.), FinTech (blockchain), Smart Cities and Sustainability, and traditional programs in Health (aged care) and Hospitality.

Program overview:

Participating Australian companies will meet with experts from the Philippine Commission on Higher Education (Higher Education regulator), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (VET regulator). They will also have the opportunity to meet with both public and private academic institutions looking for complimentary programs for internationalisation of their courses. These include institutions such as De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, Trinity University of Asia, and State Universities and Colleges, as well as key industry players looking to access a deeper pool of upskilled workers in high demand fields, such as telecommunications, business process outsourcing, infrastructure, health and hospitality. The program’s networking activity is a value-add activity designed to increase exposure, and initiate targeted meetings and group meetings with key stakeholders, such as the Asian Development Bank.
