Powered by the Australian Landing Pads and in partnership with the
Interactive Games and Entertainment Association (IGEA), Austrade invites
Australian digital game studios to join the third games-focused bootcamp in
Shanghai to kick-start their entry into the world’s largest games market.
Australian businesses attending the bootcamp will undertake an exclusive
7-day program of workshops, briefings, roundtable meetings and networking
events. Participants will deep dive into the Chinese games market, attend
business matching events with renowned global players and enjoy access to
the China Joy 2020 Expo – the largest B2B and B2C games expo in North Asia.
Austrade will work with participants pre-departure and during the bootcamp
prepare them for doing business in China
- to showcase their studio and games to global players, including Tencent
Games, BiliBili, NetEase Games, Perfect World and TapTap.
Participants will be expected to bring a working demo and a bilingual
pitchdeck to showcase their products to Chinese publishers.
The Chinese Games Market
Rising incomes and increasing computer and mobile access has led to China’s
games market emerging as the world’s largest by both revenue and number of
consumers. In 2019, the Chinese gaming sector generated US$36.5 billion in
revenue. With 619 million gamers, China is the number one market in the
world for digital console, PC, and mobile games, and continues to grow.
