Aussie-China Founders Network kicks off in Shanghai

In October the Shanghai Landing Pad-initiated Australia-China Founders Network (ACFN) had its first event and welcomed startups who were in China for the finals of the 2017 Create@Alibaba Cloud Startup Contest.

At the event, Shanghai-based Australian startups shared their observations of the China startup scene, which included tips for going global for fellow Australian entrepreneurs.

“I really enjoyed hearing about all that is happening in the Aussie founder’s scene in Shanghai,” said Haynes, co-founder of Questa Game, a Canberra-based startup that developed a real-world mobile game where players compete to save life on earth.

The ACFN will be holding regular gatherings, with the aim of building a professional community of Australian entrepreneurs in China who can share their stories and tips in the market and build new networks and opportunities with their fellow founders.

This Austrade-led initiative encourages sharing among founders in market, establishes growth pathways for newcomers, and elevates the profile of Australian entrepreneurship and innovation in the local ecosystem.
