New Landing Pad program offerings

The Landing Pads program is responding to the growing need for scaleups to have flexibility around when they choose to scale their business.

We are excited to announce four improvements to the Landing Pads offering. These improvements have been the result of client feedback and dedicated customer research to help us understand how to better serve the needs of Australian scaleups looking to expand internationally.

While we still encourage companies we work with to expand to one market at a time, we regularly find Landing Pad participants are considering multiple cities within a region – for example two key leads may be in Chicago and Denver and so the founders may want to spend time in each location working closely to secure the deal. Austrade enables companies to take advantage of our growing partner networks, and utilise space wherever Austrade has an office or partner.

Dates and Timing
We understand a set cohort time may not suit every company – with shifting priorities and internal demands sometimes a set start and end date will not always work. The flexible cohorts provide an opportunity, where there is space, for high-tech, high-growth companies to join cohorts outside the typical start and end dates. This provides companies with a community, within a co-working space, without fixed dates.

As part of the Landing Pads program we have brought on an EIR in both Singapore and San Francisco markets. Scaleups can benefit from consultations with an EIR who has experience in founding and growing a scaleup – providing tangible examples and external advice on setting organisational goals and go-to market strategy. Scaleups can benefit from regular sessions during their stay in the Landing Pad.

Each location is launching a mentor network. The network is available on the website, and designed for participants to receive additional business advice in specific areas – such as growth hacking, B2B marketing and product development. Our mentors have generously offered their time to draw on their experiences as founders/ investors/ innovation ecosystem leaders, and can provide invaluable feedback on scaling into USA.
