More than 130 Australian businesses travelled to Food & Hospitality Asia (FHA) 2026 in Singapore, the region’s premier food industry event. The event provided an opportunity for exporters to meet regional buyers, distributors and suppliers at a time of continued shifts in global trade and supply chains.
The businesses represented a broad cross-section of the agrifood sector, including fresh produce, meat, seafood, packaged food and beverages. The strong Australian presence reflected ongoing efforts to diversify export markets and strengthen engagement across Southeast Asia.
Engagement with regional buyers at the show highlighted strong interest in supply chain integrity, consistent quality standards and interest in long-term partnerships with Australia.
‘Across Southeast Asia, buyers are placing increasing importance on reliable supply, consistent quality and long-term partnerships,’ says Luisa Rust, Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner, Austrade Manila.
‘Through initiatives like the Accessing New Markets Initiative, we’re working with industry to support Australian exporters to respond to these expectations and build more sustainable in-market relationships.’
These insights highlight the need for exporters to adapt to varying market requirements across Southeast Asia.
Australian agrifood exporters stand ready to supply Southeast Asia.
Australia’s presence at FHA was supported through the Accessing New Markets Initiative (ANMI), a program designed to help Australian businesses diversify and grow their exports.
Delivered in collaboration with Trade Diversification Network (TDN) partners, ANMI focuses on facilitating practical, in market connections and linking Australian exporters with regional buyers, distributors and industry stakeholders.
FHA provides a platform to support these engagements, enabling exporters to better understand market dynamics and identify pathways for growth across Southeast Asia.
