General Manager International
A General Manager International leads a specific region for international operations. General Managers:
- oversee business operations and development, strategic planning and leadership
 - manage international staff and operations
 - foster relationships with key stakeholders in the region.
 
Austrade's international operations are organised into 8 regions with General Managers as follows:
Consul-General
The Consul-General is the key Australian Government representative in the location. Consuls-General:
- represent the Australian Government as a senior government representative in the market manage passport, consular services and immigration tasks
 - are responsible for the welfare of Australians abroad through delivering efficient passport services
 - ensure practical and up-to-date contingency planning in accordance with Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s (DFAT's) Consular Services and Passports Client Services charters
 - help Australian citizens who may be in distress.
 
Trade and Investment Commissioners
The role of an Austrade Trade and Investment Commissioner is to:
- equip Australian businesses with expert advice, contacts, grants and in-market and in-language support to sell their goods and services overseas
 - connect foreign investors to opportunities in Australia.
